traveller elementary teacher's book download

As a longtime lover of the English language, I have a lot to say about teaching it. For starters, if you can't get kids to find their love for this beautiful and lyrical language in your classroom, you're doing something wrong. But even with the best curriculum in the world, without supplementary tools such as children's books and worksheets (you know, like little games), things won't always go smoothly. Here are a few ways English teachers can make the best use of their lesson plans and supplementary materials. The method of "show, teach, do" for younger students is a tried and true one. When you're teaching a new skill, it's important to show them what you're talking about before ever attempting it yourself. This sets the example that they need to grasp the concept before running out into the playground and trying to apply it themselves. And after demonstrating how something should be done, kids should do the activity themselves. This teaches them how things really work in real life situations. It also teaches them how to ask questions, which is the best way to learn at any age. Once you've created lesson plans for each subject, give copies of the instructions to the students. This allows them to read over their instructions before class starts. This really takes some anxiety out of learning, because the kids aren't wondering whether they're going to be able to do something before they've even tried. Provide the students with copies of their instructions for reference. This is especially helpful if they're trying to complete a longer assignment. Some students might forget to read over the instructions before starting their work, but others will return to see what it looked like afterwards. Eliminate distractions by covering up your materials (or having them out of sight). When you're not looking, your kids might be tempted to turn on the TV, play with their friends or look up at another part of the room. And if they do all three at once ... well ... you'll probably hear talk come streaming out of your classroom like a waterfall in springtime. Don't give your kids a chance to talk. Think about how much noise is made in a classroom and consider this: with all the talking and no work done, who wants to sit through another hour of class? Add to that the fact that teachers often don't give students enough time for each assignment and you've got a guaranteed yawn factory. Provide enough materials for each student. It's frustrating hitting up the supply room every day only to come home empty-handed (and tired). Less frustration is at your fingertips when you've stocked up with those all-important lesson plans and worksheets. Keep your child's work organized. eccc085e13
